On Stage In January

At the beginning of January, the orchestra and Music Director Paavo Järvi reunited for the first time since the end of October to resume the recordings of the Tchaikovsky cycle, which were canceled in March 2020.

For this purpose, the recording team also returned to Zurich, observing all quarantine as well as coronatest requirements. On January 22nd, the orchestra performed live on IDAGIO's stream in the Global Concert Hall.

With the resumption of the Tchaikovsky cycle, we wanted to push ahead with the CD production and complete it as soon as possible. Tchaikovsky's Fifth Symphony, which had already been released in the fall, was described by the media as extremely committed, exciting and emotionally powerful. We wanted to be guided by this and many other perceptions in the press worldwide. If the direct feedback from the audience after a live concert is already not available to us, the reviews of the past weeks trigger an enormous motivation among the musicians to continue where we left off. We have to give ourselves a perspective with the highest quality and full orchestra.
