International Film Music Competition

The International Film Music Competition enters the 8th round and the hunt for the Golden Eye has begun. And how! This year, more applications than ever have been received.

The jury of film score composer Don Davis («The Matrix») selected five finalists from more than 300 compositions by participants from 46 different countries, who will be able to premiere their work in the Tonhalle Maag in front of 1'200 spectators.

Sandra Studer leads us through the evening and announces on the same evening, who is allowed to take home the trophy and therefore 10'000 Swiss Francs.

Last year's winner Sebastian Androne-Nakanishi is studying today - thanks to the International Film Music Competition - at the ZHdK. In the interview, he remembers the moment of last year`s announcement.

The second part of the evening is themed «Beyond the Matrix». The Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich under the direction of Frank Strobel plays «The Matrix» -Suiten and other - of course with film clips on a big screen.
