See you soon!

Dear music lovers

I was really looking forward to these three weeks in Zurich. That we now had to cancel all concerts is right and important – health comes first.

I would have liked to introduce you to our third Focus artist of this season. Ksenija Siderova, not only plays a special instrument, but she stands for passion and perfection. We will invite her back to Zurich very soon, so that not only we will have experienced her in rehearsal, but also you live in concert. The concert with Lisa Batiashvili and Szymanowski's special violin concerto would have been a trouvaille of this season. Lisa will be our guest at one of my concerts next season, I can tell you that much. When Chick Corea called me in Tokyo more than a year ago and insisted on working with the orchestra and me, it was an opportunity to show that we can look beyond our own horizons and feel at home in the field of jazz. It's a pity that we couldn't give this proof.

I also very much regret the cancellation of the Conductors' Academy, which I newly founded here in Zurich. It is my duty to pass on my knowledge to young people, to share the experience and to impart knowledge. We will celebrate the premiere next season and I hope you will be there then.

At this point I would like to thank our partners who support us in this – also financially challenging – time and who support our decisions. Without this understanding, our organisation could hardly continue to exist. My thanks also go to our audience. Many of you have donated the amount of the concert ticket to us. What a generous sign!

I will be back in Zurich in June and am looking forward to our concerts and especially to the open air at the Münsterhof.

In the meantime, I hope that you all stay healthy and that we will meet again soon.

Best regards
Your Paavo Järvi
